Years ago, my college counselor gave me the book shown in the image above which I refer to often. Simple concepts regarding life and my perspective then as opposed to now has helped tremendously in my growth. I recommend it to anyone who may need a little help with figuring things out. We all have ups and down or challenges we face daily. For many like me, struggling with mental health, success can be a simple task lile getting dressed in the morning. I realize I have a choice regarding my attitude when faced with difficult moments. People often ask me, “why are you so bubbly” or “how do you stay so positive all the time”? I giggle because like everyone, I have times of sadness, worry and fear; however, I refuse to be a victim of my circumstances. It may be several times a day when I have to stop and take a minute to regroup by praying and reminding myself that things only seem bad in that particular moment. I realize the Lord has provided me with everything I “need”. There are people dealing with so much more like the loss of their homes and loved ones from the wild fires and sickness in general. Therefor I “choose” to view my life as a whole, being thankful that the good outweighs the bad. Life often means situations beyond our control being thrown at us, so I’d like to share how I start my day to prepare for those unexpected moments. First by having faith and trying to keep a positive mental attitude and staying mindful, not of what I have, but of who I am and who I’m “Becoming” as a person. Like Mary J. says in her song, ” I like what I see when I’m looking at me and I’m walking pass the mirror….my life’s just fine, fine fine wooo…”
My favorite daily affirmation:
“Thy will be done this day! Today is a day of completion; I give thanks for this perfect day, miracle shall follow miracle and wonders shall never cease”

Perspective and attitude are key in combatting the daily challenges. Good for you for choosing to view your days as part of a larger whole!

Thanks you. Some days it’s hard, but I feel better in general just by having the right attitude.

Attitude is everything. Yours is wonderful. I chose years ago not to wallow in my down days. It was a matter of pulling up my socks, picking up my feet and moving forward in the best way that I could. Some days it iseasier than others but

Great affirmation and attitude. Long ago I had a psychic give me a series of statements to make in the morning: I am grateful for the wonderful rest. I have a calm and peaceful feeling in my body. I am ready to start the day. I know that everything is perfect in my life and perfect things come to me. Sometimes I have to alter them to make them more realistic…..I am grateful for “some” rest. I am feeling some peace in my body. I am starting my day. I know that ultimately this universe is designed to bring perfection to all things and I am journeying toward that truth every day and clearing what is the way of that reality. 🙂

I’m actually quite familiar with the author & have his work in my collection as well. Unfortunately though, not sure about relying on memory. Epilepsy makes that a bit of a challenge.

Girl…this line for me says it all Tammy…”I refuse to be a victim of my circumstances.” I too concur and embrace your affirmations when I begin my day. You have to take a moment(s) throughout your day to step away, to release and then to decide on your approach going forward whether negative or positive. I choose the positive approach girlfriend, because negative takes up way too much energy and too much time is wasted! 😆
What an uplifting message to read this morning! Ciao ladybug!!! 👏🏼💖🤗 Have an awe-inspiring day! 🥰😎😊

Exactly, and if I stay in a negative mindset I feel it’s a negative impact on my body (health), my actions and everything as a whole so I choose to do what I need to do I don’t get stuck in that place.

Sis! Is that a gun-handle mug??? You are hilarious.
I do think having a daily routine can help minimize issues, especially for those of us dealing with mental health issues already…anything unexpected can be a disaster.

Lol, yeah. It was a gift from my son when he was young. The kids tease me because when we visit Arkansas, I loved being out shooting w/ my great uncle’s, well basically them teaching me about guns, but I don’t like hunting & I refuse to kill a precious animal.

Oh my, just saw your second half. It is hard, everyday is a challenge, but having a routine works for me. People say I need to be more spontaneous, but the unexpected gives me anxiety. That’s when I just breathe & remember how far I’ve come & push forward, sometimes w/ a tequila sunrise, lol.

Aww thank you dearly. That’s what many don’t understand. I never said it’s easy, it takes work, but I feel so much better as whole when I “choose” to be optimistic and keep a positive attitude. Blessing to you my dear & thanks again.
