Tammy Wynette is a mother of three and a “G-MA” (grandma). Born in Wilmar, Arkansas, I currently reside in Sacramento, CA. I am a former ARC student in the Umoja Sakhu Learning Community. I’m an active leader and role model in the community, and have worked with teens sharing and teaching poetry, as well as providing insight for young parents to prosper.
I’m also certified as an advocate for NAMI (The National Alliance on Mental Illness) and am passionate about raising awareness regarding mental health, particularly the disparites within the African American communities. A trailblazer & Griot, keeper of stories/traditions passed down from my ancestors. As an Author and motivational speaker it’d be an honor to present at your events to inspire, encourage & let our VOICES be heard! Please know that you are not alone!
Some of my short stories and poems are featured in Our Black Mothers: Brave, Bold and Beautiful!
